AI consultant Co., Ltd., a company deeply rooted in Shimanto City and dedicated to supporting the safety and daily life of the local community,
has renovated a former electronics retail store near Nakamura Station to establish its new headquarters.

Designed under the theme of “An Open Office for the Community,”
the new building carries forward the spirit of the previous office nestled in nature,
serving as a place that grows together with the town.

The existing building’s distinctive rooftop tower and equipment were removed,
while an open glass façade reveals the vibrancy of the interior to the surrounding streetscape.
Inside, locally sourced materials such as hinoki cypress, Tosa plaster, and Japanese paper create shared spaces filled with soft light and natural texture.
At the heart of the space, a long communal counter serves as a hub for communication—
fostering interaction not only among employees but also with local residents.

Rather than dividing the workspace with walls,
the layout utilizes differences in ceiling height to subtly define areas.
Tosa plaster finishes on walls and ceilings softly diffuse the natural light,
creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere.
The floor features hinoki wood flooring that brings warmth and a gentle fragrance to the office.
Shelving made of steel grids and hinoki mimics the layered scenery of the Shimanto River’s forest,
gently filtering sightlines and forming an open yet serene working environment.

Through the interplay of regional materials, natural light, and human presence,
a new office space embodying the spirit of Shimanto has been born.

四万十市に根ざし、地域の暮らしと安全を支えてきた有限会社アイコンサルタントは、新たな拠点として中村駅近くの元家電量販店を改修し、新社屋を構えた。
自然豊かな旧社屋の記憶を引き継ぎながら、地域と共に成長していく“まちに開かれたオフィス”をテーマに設計を行った。

既存建物の特徴的な塔屋や屋上設備を撤去し、開放的なガラスファサードを活かして内部の賑わいをまちへと伝える。
内部はヒノキ、土佐漆喰、和紙など地域素材をふんだんに用い、柔らかな光と自然の質感に包まれた共用空間を形成。共用空間の中心に置かれたカウンターテーブルを中心に、社員同士はもちろん地域住民との交流の場としても機能する。

執務空間は壁で仕切るのではなく、気積を活用した高さの操作で空間を仕切る平面・断面構成とした。壁・天井には土佐漆喰を塗装し、自然光が程良く執務空間で鈍く反射する効果を狙っている。
オフィス内の床は、自然の木の温かみを感じられる檜フローリングとしており、柔らかい光が執務空間を包み込む。
スチール格子と檜で構成された棚が、四万十川の雑木林のように視線を柔らかく遮り、閉ざされない快適なオフィス環境を実現している。

地域素材・自然光・人の気配が交差する、四万十らしい新たなオフィス空間が誕生した。
